CITY & GUILDS INTERNATIONAL

As the most recognized international examinations body, City & Guilds provides qualifications and certifications directly linked to workplace skills. These skills are not only academic based, but focuses on the competence of a graduate .   Recognized in 120 countries worldwide, City & Guilds is synonymous with practical competence and values. At the FBI all students qualify on City & Guilds International programs together with a Food and Beverage Institute certificates.
It has become apparent that the international hospitality arena bases majority of their entry requirements into practical positions on City & Guilds qualifications. An added advantage of City & Guilds programs, is the fact that qualifications are constantly updates with the help of industry professionals all around the world.

CATHSSETA www.cathsseta.co.za

Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport sector education and training authority
Newly formed, CATHSSETA’s (Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport sector education and training authority), main function is to contribute to the raising of skills - of those already employed, or wanting to be employed - by ensuring that people learn skills that are needed by employers and communities. Theta ensures that training is to agreed standards, within a national framework wherever possible. It is no good if someone is trained in one province if their qualifications are not recognized in another. They also ensure that all training is subject to quality control and compared to the best international standards.  (Data source: SACA)

SAQA

In association with City & Guilds International, the FBI offers many SAQA related and aligned qualifications.
The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) is a body that oversees the development of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). It formulates and publishes policies and criteria for the registration of bodies responsible for establishing education and training standards or qualifications, as well as for the accreditation of bodies responsible for monitoring and auditing achievements in terms of such standards and qualifications.

     
South African Chefs Association

Centre membership number: TPSACA 15173
The South African Chefs Association is a non-profit industry organization that has been representing chefs, cooks and caterers at all levels for the past 35 years.
It’s core purpose is to set and maintain the highest level of culinary excellence, food standards and professionalism throughout South Africa. SACA plays an integral role in the training and continuous improvement of standards in the hospitality industry. With the predicted growth in tourism, this role is becoming more and more important and through the SACA Seal of Approval, recognized standards for the industry are being set. (Data source:  SACA)
